Not proceeding: Health and Safety at Work (Volunteer Associations) Amendment Bill
Health and Safety / 22 May 2019
Last year we discussed a Bill proposing to change the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (Act) to exclude “volunteer associations” in certain circumstances. This Bill will now not proceed, having failed at the second reading after a Select Committee recommendation that it not be passed. The Select Committee recommended the issues the Bill sought to address be included in the Minister of Workplace Relations and Safety wider review of the Act, so that they are dealt with in context.
